“Over 30 Idaho lawmakers, candidates and faith leaders have recently publicly denounced the Idaho Freedom Foundation's decision to retain Dave Reilly.

The IFF's decision to retain Reilly, despite his history of antisemitic remarks, has sparked widespread concern and condemnation, Idaho Leaders United staff said in a press release.

"We cannot stand idly by while an organization of influence unites itself with an individual who has a track record of promoting hate speech and violence," said Amos Rothstein, former executive director of the Idaho GOP and member of ILU. "It is crucial that Idahoans demand a higher standard and actively work towards fostering an environment of respect and understanding.”

Many ILU staff expressed their disapproval of the organization's association with Reilly, of whom they said is an individual who has continually espoused anti-Semitic views and promoted violence and hate in Idaho.

Amid the criticism surrounding retaining Reilly, Wayne Hoffman, leader of the IFF, stepped down from his position.

“This move comes amidst growing pressure and public outcry against the organization’s association with Dave Reilly,” the press release said. “Idaho Leaders United, a coalition of business, law enforcement and military leaders throughout the state collectively disavowing political violence and extremism, sees this as a pivotal moment for the organization to reassess its values and commitments.”

ILU staff called on all lawmakers, candidates, and faith leaders to be a catalyst for positive change by committing to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all and denouncing political extremism and violence in Idaho.”
