What is Christian nationalism?
Christians against Christian Nationalism defines Christian nationalism as “a political ideology that seeks to merge Christian and American identities, distorting both the Christian faith and America’s constitutional democracy.”
Christian nationalism undermines our democracy and our communities.
Most Christians reject the tenets of Christian Nationalism and its extreme agenda.
Their movement aims to gain power and control over how people can worship, who is allowed to vote, and every aspect of our society. Christian nationalism would relegate anyone who does not subscribe to their narrow and exclusionary interpretation of Christianity to second class citizenship.
For example, many powerful Christian nationalists would not allow members of the Church of Latter-Day Saints to run for office, nor let women vote.
