In the News: Idaho Falls City Council President Stands up to Hate
Recently, the Idaho Falls City Council President reminded the community that the pledge of allegiance is a personal commitment not to participate in hate or discrimination. President Jim Francis says that he spoke out because of statements made by the nation's leaders.
He said: “[The pledge of allegiance] is a solemn promise to respect other people, liberty and justice for all. You don’t have to agree with what people are, who they are. Who people are is not something that should be held against them.”
