We must demonstrate the courage and commitment to reject extremism and political violence every day, not simply once every two years.
MISSION
Idaho Leaders United stands with the vast majority of Idahoans who reject bigotry and political violence. Together, we will defend the great state of Idaho, her future, and her legacy for every generation that follows us.
Extremism in idaho
According to the Department of Justice, “Violent extremists are those who encourage, endorse, condone, justify, or support the commission of a violent criminal act to achieve political, ideological, religious, social, or economic goals.”
In our civic life, sometimes people or groups may not explicitly encourage this violence, but they incite hatred, bigotry and discrimination that can lead to these acts.
Our pledge calls on Idahoans to disavow these people and actions - from any corner.
How we work
We know that the vast majority of Idahoans believe in the rule of law and reject political extremism. ILU messengers leverage their personal and professional networks to speak out against bigoted and violent appeals and remind fellow Idahoans that we are better off when we work together across divides without resorting to extremism.
